The main defendant, Saifur, was arrested in Chhatak in Sunamganj on Sunday morning, the Shahporan OC Abdul Qayyum police station said.

Anwar Hossain Mridha, OC of the Sunamganj District Police Special Branch, said: “The main defendant in the case has been arrested on the basis of secret information.”
Arjun Lashkar was later arrested in Madhabpur in Habiganj.
Madhabpur Police Station OC Iqbal Hossain said Arjun was arrested in the Durbalpur village bordering Montala Union in upazila.
Arjun is believed to have been trying to flee to India across the Mantala border.

RAB 9 Deputy Superintendent of Police Obain Rakhine said that RAB members arrested Rony from the Nizampur area in Shayestaganj upazila in Habiganj and Rabiul Islam from Nabiganj upazila on Sunday morning.
Shahporan Police Station OC Abdul Qayyum said the four arrested would be sent to court.
He said the operation is also underway to arrest the rest.
The girl, who was going to walk with her husband at MC College in the Tilagarh area, was picked up from the campus and taken to a dormitory around 9:30 p.m. The young woman’s husband was beaten while trying to detain her.
Upon receiving the news, the police rescued the girl around 10:30 pm and admitted her to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Sharmin Khanam Nilara on Sunday noon, the raped young woman testified, said Sylhet Metropolitan Court Prosecution Deputy Commissioner Amulya Kumar.
He said: “He (the rapist) gave a detailed account of what happened that night in court. The court recorded his statement in section 22. “
Although the girl is not physically afraid, doctors said that she is still mentally weak.
