Three people were killed in a train and bus collision in Feni.
Feni: Three people were killed and 15 others injured when a Chittagong-bound mail bus collided with a Chittagong-bound mail train at the Fatehpur railway crossing in Feni.
The accident took place on Sunday (October 11) around 6:15 a.m. Two died on the spot and one died on the way to the hospital. The wounded have been admitted to the 250-bed Feni General Hospital.
Most of the injured are being treated in the emergency department, the doctor on duty said. He also said that some people have been transferred to hospitals in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Police and firefighters are working to rescue those injured in the accident. Some of the bus passengers said, The NR Paribahan bus left Chapainawabganj. After a break at the Nur Jahan hotel in Comilla, he left again. In the morning, the passengers were suddenly awakened by a loud noise. Then they saw the overturned bus. It was not known if the bus driver was negligent as many of them were asleep.
The Deputy Inspector (SI) of the Feni Mahipal Taslim Uddin Road Police Station is on the scene. He said: ‘I got the news in the morning and so far I have been able to send 12/13 people to the hospital. ‘
Muhammad Abu Taher Masum, station chief of the Feni Fire Service, said, Rescue operations are underway. The victims were rescued and taken to hospital. The bus was removed and taken off the line. Currently communication by train is normal. ‘
