Dhaka: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -3 has brought three cases against Monir Hossain aka Golden Monir, who became the owner of billions of rupees from a store clerk.

Meanwhile, Golden Monir, who was transferred to the RAB-3 office after his arrest on Saturday (November 21), has been turned over to the Badda police.

Parvez Islam, the Police Officer in Charge (CO) of Badda, confirmed the case and handed it over to the police station on Sunday morning (22 November).

He said that the RAB had filed three separate cases against Golden Monir under the Special Powers Act, the Narcotics Control Act and the Gun Act. He will be sent to court on Sunday (November 22) after being arrested in all three cases.

He also said that a total of 21 days of preventive detention for seven days will be applied in each case for interrogation.

Golden Monir was arrested on Saturday (November 21) morning from his home in the Badda area of ​​the capital. At that time, 600 bags of gold jewelry, foreign guns, liquor, huge foreign currency from 10 countries, and one crore and nine lakh rupees in cash were seized from his home.

In addition, two unlicensed luxury cars, each with a market value of around Rs 3 million, were seized from his home. In addition, three other unlicensed luxury cars were seized from their car show called ‘Auto Car Selection’.

According to RAB, Golden Monir owns more than two hundred parcels and flats in and around Dhaka. He seized numerous plots through forgery with the collusion of some RAJUK officials. However, Monir initially supported 30 parcels and flats.

The operation was carried out on the basis of specific complaints after a long search with the help of an intelligence agency. Previously, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and RAJUK had a case against Golden Monir. Monir is basically a hundi merchant and a gold smuggler. From this, Moni became known as ‘Golden Monir’.
