The Bangladesh police have started a self-cleaning campaign against drugs. As part of this, drug testing for members of the police began two months ago in the greater Dhaka area. Of these, 26 have tested positive so far. DMP Commissioner Muha told Kaler Kantha that other members of the police will also be tested for drugs in phases. Islam Shafiqul.
According to police sources, two months ago the anti-doping tests of the police officers began in DMP. Of these, 105 suspected police officers were examined. The results of four SI, three ASI, one Naik and 16 agents were positive. Then a departmental case was filed against them.
After opening the new DC Traffic office in Mirpur on Saturday morning, the DMP commissioner said: “We have conducted doping tests on suspected members of the police who use drugs. Of these, 26 members tested positive. The process of dismissal of these 26 people has begun.
At the time, the DMP commissioner added: “We believe that taking action against them in this way will send a clear message to the rest that we will not let anyone down.” As a result of our initiative, many have improved and returned from this path. Members of the police who are involved with drugs or who collaborate with drug traffickers are being arrested with charges directly against them. There is no relaxation in this sense. Action is being taken against a police officer involved in drugs in the same way that action is being taken against a common drug dealer.
