Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen said that from now on, 20 flights will be operated on the Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia route. He also said that the flight will begin operating from Thursday.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed met with representatives from six Gulf countries and Malaysia in Dhaka on Wednesday. He said this at a press conference after the meeting.

The talks were attended by representatives from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Malaysia. The country’s representative did not attend the meeting due to the death of the Emir of Qatar.

The foreign minister said there will be 20 weekly flights from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia starting Thursday. Of these, 10 are from Saudi Airlines and 10 from Biman Bangladesh. We hope this will allow more expatriates to return to Saudi Arabia soon.

He said there was no problem sending workers to any country other than Saudi Arabia, adding that the UAE now operates 18 flights per week. They want to increase it even more.

Those who left Saudi Arabia but have expired visas will be repatriated in stages, the two ministers said, citing Saudi authorities. They also said that those who obtained visas last March but have expired will have to reissue their visas.

The foreign minister said that “there was nothing to do” with those whose visas had expired and who would no longer hire sponsors. In mentioning the number of workers 53 so far, AK Momen advised them to look for a different sponsor or alternative employment or any job in the country.
