2 arrested for attacking UNO Wahid

Rangpur: Two people, including the main defendant, have been arrested in connection with the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi (UN) officer Wahida Khanam in Dinajpur. The two are the main defendants Asadul Islam and Jahangir Alam.

They were arrested Thursday night (September 3). The officer in charge of the Hakimpur (OC) police station, Ferdous Wahid, told banglanews.

He said that a joint team from the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the police carried out an operation in the Kaliganj border area of ​​Dinajpur around 4:15 pm. Asadul was arrested at his sister’s home. Jahangir was also arrested in another operation. Later that night, they were taken to the RAB-13 headquarters in Rangpur.

Earlier on Thursday (September 3), UNO’s brother Wahida Khanam filed a case at the Ghoraghat police station.

On Wednesday (September 2), criminals broke the fan in UNO Wahida’s official residence, entered the house and attacked Wahida and her father. ONE was seriously injured in the head and her father was seriously injured when she was stabbed with a sharp weapon.

Later, UNO was admitted for the first time to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RAMEC). After that, his condition was critical and he was taken to Dhaka by helicopter for better treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Hospital of the National Institute of Neurosciences in the capital.

Meanwhile, UNO Waheeda underwent head surgery around 11 p.m. Thursday. Later he was transferred again to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. His physical condition has improved a bit.

Doctors said the left side of UNO Waheed’s head was badly damaged in the attack. Parts of his head broke and created pressure inside the brain. It was decided to operate on him in the hope that his condition would improve if it was removed.
