The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice to extend the period of public license in public and private offices until May 5 to combat the coronavirus. However, this time along with other emergency services, the activities of 18 ministries and departments will be open in Dhaka and across the country on a limited basis. Apart from this, all factory authorities, including the pharmaceutical, production and export industries, will be able to guarantee the workers’ health and safety services.
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued two separate notifications about it on Thursday. He said that all departments, including Dhaka general holidays, and 18 ministries and departments would be open at the district and upazila level. These offices are: Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Commerce, Food and Public Administration, Department of Health Services, Department of Health Education and Family Welfare, Department of Public Safety, Department of Health Services Security, Ministry of Information, Department of Local Government, Department of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Disaster Management. Ministry of Administration and Relief, Maritime Transport, Social Welfare, Women’s and Children’s Affairs and Fisheries and Animal Resources Ranalaya.
The notification also stated that officials from all other government offices must be present at their respective places of work at this time.
That is beyond the reach of vacations
On the other hand, the vacation notification says that emergency services such as electricity, water, gas and other fuels, fire services, port activities (land, river and sea ports), cleaning activities, telephone, internet, postal services and related services. Stay out on vacation. Vehicles (trucks, lorries, cargo ships, etc.) dedicated to transporting all kinds of goods on roads and waterways will continue to move.
Also, the license will not apply to agricultural products, fertilizers, pesticides, food, industrial products, state-owned goods, raw materials, food, pharmacies, hospitals and emergency services, and related personnel. Physicians and staff engaged in medical services, vehicles, and personnel transporting medical equipment, including medications, and staff dedicated to the media (print and electronic) will be excluded from this vacation.
Apart from this, all factory authorities, including the pharmaceutical, production and export industries, will be able to guarantee the workers’ health and safety services.
Taking into account the situation, the areas related to industrial factories, agriculture and the production and supply system will be opened later and at the level of public transport. No educational institution can be kept open during the holidays. However, the offices involved in the emergency work will remain open. Furthermore, taking into account the needs of the people, Bangladesh Bank will give the necessary instructions to keep the banking system working on a limited scale.
This time the license was extended by five points. The first phase was canceled from March 26 to April 4 due to coronavirus. After that, the license was extended until April 11. The party ran for the third time until April 14. In the fourth phase, the license was extended until April 25. This time considering the situation, the license was extended in the fifth phase.
