16 Shibir activists, including women councilors, were detained from the rented house

DB police have arrested 16 members of Shibir, including a city councilor, in Meherpur. They were arrested at a rented house on Sheikh Para in the city of Meherpur on Saturday night (December 19) in a raid led by the OC Zulfiqar Ali district detective police.
Police said 14 bicycles, three motorcycles, several Islamic books, calendars and receipts were seized. The detainees are Shiuli Akhter (32), Mehedi Hasan (22), Sakhawat Hossain (22), Syed Jobayer Hasan (15), Abdullah (18), Hridoy (15) and Masud. (15), Kamrul Islam Nahid (18), Raju Ahmed (22), Abul Hasan (22), Mahabub (18), Iqbal Hossain (18), Abul Basar (20), Saidul Islam (19), Roman (14) , Abu Jafar (18), Khalid Saifullah (18), Abul Basar (20) and Al Saif (18).
Police Superintendent SM Murad Ali visited the scene. At the time, he said, a DB team agreed on a suspicious house based on secret information. Subsequently, 18 members of Shibir were arrested during a sabotage operation. The detained Shibir members have been taken to the district intelligence office for questioning. According to the police, Councilor Shiuli Khatun has been living in the rented house for a long time. Meetings with Shibir members were held at his home at different times.
