Tk 1,256 crore to pay Rs 2,500 crore to 50 lakh families who lost their jobs due to coronavirus The money was released on Monday.

Rs 726 crore from Budget Branch-1 of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance and Rs 630 million from Budget Branch-3. To send this money to the beneficiaries as a mobile bank, a service fee of Tk 7 crore has been waived.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is known to open the disbursement program on May 14. The payment process will continue until Eid-ul-Fitr. The money will be delivered to a total of 4 million families in the next 4 days from the opening day. The remaining 10 lakh families will also receive it.
All will be paid through Mobile Financial Services (MFS). From this, 18 lakh families will receive the services of the postal department in cash. The development will give 15 lakh families. Rocket will give 10 lakh families and SureCash will give 7 lakh families.
Whatever the service fee for sending money per thousand, the government will grant these MFS only 6 rupees per thousand. In other words, the government has to spend an additional 15 rupees to reach 2,500 rupees for a family. If MFS is not discounted, the cost of delivery would have tripled.
When contacted, the Managing Director of Cash, Tanvir Ahmed, told Prothom Alo: “The cost of the cash transaction is Tk 14.50 per thousand.” We will get 6 rupees. We have to subsidize the remaining 6 rupees 50 paise. But the cash will be on the side of all government initiatives. We are ready to give a full subsidy if the government gives instructions. ‘
