The Red Crescent Society will provide financial assistance of 5,000 to 12,000 taka to families affected by the coronavirus in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area. The event was opened by Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh at the Buriganga Hall in Nagar Bhaban, the DSCC headquarters, on Monday evening.
The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and the German Red Cross have taken the initiative to provide humanitarian assistance to families affected by Covid-19. This financing will be provided through mobile financial services (bKash, cash, rocket, etc.).
DSCC Public Relations Officer. Abu Naser said that under this program, 560 DSCC cleaners have already received Covid-19 security equipment. Another 430 will be provided.
Opening the event, Mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh said that 21 million people live in Dhaka. Due to the general progress and development of Bangladesh under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the poverty rate has dropped a lot. But even then, a large part of those who live in Dhaka live below the poverty line. Therefore, he requested the necessary oversight to ensure that Dhaka voters, slum dwellers, the destitute and the poor avail themselves of this facility.
