Sylhet: A forensic report has revealed 111 injuries on the body of 30-year-old Raihan Uddin, who was tortured at a police post in Sylhet. Of these lesions, 96 were lilac lesions and 14 were signs of lesions.
The injuries were caused by sticks. Raihan died of bleeding due to a ruptured vein within his body due to additional injuries.
The flesh of the body is crushed due to the wound. When the vein ruptures, there is internal bleeding. Raihan passed out due to additional injuries. Raihan’s stomach was empty at the time of the injury. The stomach had only liquid acidity.
On Saturday night (October 16), the head of the forensic department of the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Shamsul Islam confirmed this information to banglanews. He said that the report has been delivered to PBI. Raihan died at 8:50 am on Sunday.
Earlier Thursday (October 15) at the end of the second autopsy. Shamsul Islam told reporters that there were numerous wound marks on Raihan’s body. He was severely beaten. That is why he died of additional injuries.
Oidi’s body was removed from the grave and reburied at the Akhalia Nawabi Mosque in the afternoon after a second autopsy.
He died at Osmani Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning (October 11) after being tortured at a police station. The victim’s wife filed a murder case at the Kotwali Police Station. After that, 4 policemen, including Akbar, were fired and another 3 were removed. Akbar has been on the run since the Sunday after the incident.
The case was transferred to the PBI following instructions from the police headquarters. After receiving the investigation, the PBI team inspected the Bandarbazar police station, the city’s foundry house and the home of the deceased. However, the body was exhumed and re-examined.
The movement is stepping up to demand the arrest and execution of those involved in Raihan’s murder, including SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan. Every day, in different places in the city of Sylhet, the demonstrations and rallies have been blocked by the agitated people.
