Another meteor? More boom was heard, Firebulls Upstate NY


Upset Did you hear the boom last night in New York? Have you cut the line of light in the night sky?

If so, you are not alone.

Witnesses traveling from Virginia to New York to Quebec reported a fireball at the American Meteorological Society on Monday night. One view came from Oswego County.

A video taken by a doorbell camera in the city of Oswego shows a flash of light in the night sky. After the flash came a huge, hefty boom. The video, taken at 9:21 p.m., near Miller Street, was provided by a witness and was posted on the Meteor Society’s website.

The reports come less than a week after a meteorite erupted over central New York. The tremors of the house, the sonic boom sounded like an explosion, shocked the people of Central New York and beyond.

Monday night’s three fire reports came from upstate New York. They were about three hours apart, according to the Society’s lawsuits: seven: 31: 311, 30: 30 at night and 20:30 at night.

The biggest word of fireball reports came at 7:31 p.m. The Meteor Society received 155 reports from witnesses – mostly in Nantario and Quebec – who saw fireballs in the sky, according to the Meteor Society. Witnesses in the Catskills and Albany area also saw a bright light in the sky.

An hour later, another firefight was reported to the meteorite community. Most of the 28 witness reports were in Pennsylvania. But the sighting of a fireball ball was made in the southeast of Courtland, according to the Society’s log.

Watching the fireball ball in Oswego was last submitted to the meteorite community last night. So far, only one witness reported hearing the boom and seeing the releases.
