1000 WHP Ford Mustang Scrambles for Traction Racing 800 WHP Challenger Hellcat

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of the fiercest cars on the market, but that doesn’t mean it’s invincible, especially when tuning comes into play.

The video below features a Challenger SRT Hellcat that has been tuned to 800 horsepower against a Ford Mustang that is said to be driving approximately 1000 WHP! While we don’t know what modifications have been made to the Ford to make it growl so much, we suspect it has been turbocharged or supercharged.

As you can probably imagine, a Ford Mustang with more than twice the power it left the factory with is very happy to spin its rear tires. In fact, it sets thick lines of black rubber every time the driver steps on the gas, apparently no matter what gear the car is in.

In the first race, the Mustang immediately jumps to an advantage over the Challenger and leaves thick black lines along the way for hundreds of feet. The Hellcat, by comparison, doesn’t seem to encounter any traction issues, but despite its better grip, it just doesn’t have enough horsepower to keep up with the Ford.

The second race seems much closer because the Mustang lost traction off the line and the driver seems to have released the throttle to keep things under control, giving the Hellcat the opportunity it needed (almost) to stay.
