Zoom’s video service is down

Zoom reported “partial outages” for their video service just before 9 a.m. ET on Monday.

“We have received reports from users who are unable to visit the Zoom website (zoom.us) and are unable to initiate and participate in Zoom meetings and webinars. We are currently investigating and will provide updates as we have them,” he wrote. the company through its service website. The company later said it was “continuing to work on a fix for this problem.”

The video conferencing business became instrumental during the Covid-19 pandemic. In an effort to replicate their own meetings as lessons, companies and schools have shifted to using software that allows participants to meet virtually.

Zoom does not disclose user numbers, but analysts at Bernstein estimated in June that their mobile app had 173 million monthly active users as of May 27, up from $ 14 million on March 4, per data from analytics firm Apptopia.

The company’s share has risen more than 325% year to date.
