One follower really broke down why this cancellation made no sense, and especially in light of Kravitz’s statement that there is a weariness of female Black representation on the platform. They also shouted what they saw as a lack of promotion for the show.
“This is why her decision was so absurd! Canceling this show, removing this nuanced painting from a woman of color … one of her worst decisions,” the fan wrote. “Btw, where was the promo? I only found out about this show by stumbling across an article online.”
There were some suggestions that it might just be bad reviews, although it’s hard to say if streaming platforms are not always transparent. Amid all the comments were a few calls for Netflix to pick up the series.
Other celebrities jumped to the show’s first defense, with Lena Waithe commenting, “rarely find shows that really impress me. This one did it. I’ve told you how much I love this show. I still do. This one definitely deserves another season. “
