Zendaya’s MCU character changes too much between the two ‘Spider-Man’ movies, fans complain

MJ’s character in Tom Holland Marvel Cinematic Universe Spiderman Cinema remains a mystery, even though it is a romantic interest for Peter Parker. It is also unknown if she really represents Mary Jane Watson from the Marvel comics (or anyone else), even if the intention was to bring elements from the comic book version.

Or, at least, this is what Zendaya, who plays MJ, said in recent interviews. However, most fans disagree with this. Some suggest that he became a different person in the most recent Spiderman movie compared to before.

There may be a good reason for that if you follow the psychological aspects of the snap. Or maybe MJ is starting to evolve into a different character.

When MJ first appeared in Homecoming, she was seen as an overly distant student who generally made an effort to make fun of her peers. One of the famous scenes from this is when she drew Peter Parker being sent to detention. Her comment on “I just like to draw people in crisis” set things in motion so that she was more open to Parker.

At first, however, he thought Parker and Ned Leeds were losers. She was a loner who enjoyed getting lost in a book than hanging out with friends.

At the end of Homecoming, There were signs that she and Parker were warming up. However, the events that occur in between Homecoming and Far from home there was MJ being a victim of the snap.

Coming back to life after dying changed her personality into someone apparently different from how it started. Regardless, the mystery about what the name MJ really means continues.

Reddit fans think MJ changed too much

Characters that change too often can alter fans’ perceptions without giving some logical explanations. According to Spiderman Fans on Reddit, MJ changed quite a bit when he was seen again on Far from home.

Suddenly, she was more realistic than the quirky student seen in the previous movie. On top of that, Reddit users note that the MJ in the comics really didn’t look anything like the MJ portrayed by Zendaya. Last saying like that seemed a bit wrong from the start.

Doing so could be a ruse anyway since MJ now seems reinvented. Perhaps one of the reasons she ended her rude and lonely ways is because resurrecting after being shaken certainly changes priorities.

If true, then MJ should become a more interesting character once Spider man 3 finally release. Other rumors say that MJ is very different from the Mary Jane that everyone thought she was.

Is MJ going to become Firestar?

It was apparently established that MJ’s real name is Michelle Jones. Some fans contend that this might not hold in place if rumors hold that she could become the superhero Firestar.

Various sources are beginning to speculate on this as a serious possibility if it has any complications since Firestar’s original human name was Angelica Jones.

As everyone knows, though, the MCU often changes things from comic book iterations. Perhaps his intention is to give a wink to the original MJ while continuing to assimilate with the character of Angelica Jones.

If the MCU takes this route, it would become a huge turn, if it gives Zendaya much more to do. This may also be the logical extension of their suddenly changing personalities.

MJ may have a career similar to Tony Stark

The evolutionary arcs of the characters is what the MCU does best, especially showing Tony Stark going from being a selfish child to a mature and self-sacrificing adult. A similar plan may be in process for MJ as the backbone.

Some might say that MJ has gotten a bit lost in actually being an essential character. Making her suddenly become a Firestar (and working alongside Spider-Man) could pave a whole new path with plot ideas.

In the end, perhaps everyone will notice that MJ was so lonely at first because he knew he had a knack for generating microwave radiation.

Then again, that never happened when she and Parker finally kissed.
