When it comes to blockbusters, even the actors can feel a little overwhelmed by how great a show they are. Zendaya, 23, is no exception to this rule. While she has established herself as a household name among a certain demographic thanks to her Disney projects, her appearance at the time of the Spider-Man movies was a whole new experience for her.
When it was first announced that Zendaya was going to play Mary Jane in Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans were interested to see what it would bring to the character. Traditionally, MJ has been more of a cookie cutter character, so bringing Zendaya was an opportunity for the franchise to completely re-imagine the character.

In a recent interview with Variety, Zendaya spoke about how exciting it was for her to land a well-known role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Although her role in the first movie was not huge, she had more opportunities to speak in the subsequent sequel,. Spider-Man: away from home. But, Zendaya wasn’t too concerned with how big her role was, she was just excited to be a part of the movie. “We have to travel a lot for that last movie. I spent most of my time in London, and when you get up at three in the morning, I’m literally running out of the Tower of London before it opens. I can run away from these killer drones that no one can see because they are not there yet, ”Zendaya revealed.

The 23-year-old also shared that the experience of filming Spiderman it is a much larger production than you are used to. Because the MCU has so many followers and covers so many stories, there are so many things that are kept secret. Even when the actors receive their scripts, a lot of information is left out to avoid information leaks and spoilers. These unknowns created a particularly interesting environment in which Zendaya was challenged to think on her feet and improvise a bit.

“It is massive. It is very different from Euphoria, where it is close and you have more time. While in something like Spiderman, it’s such a big thing. And there are so many secrets, and half the script that you can’t even read because there are too many spoilers for, at the time, Final game and all these other things. It’s like you really don’t know what you’re doing. It’s so big, you think, ‘I’m going to solve it as I go along,’ ”Zendaya shared of filming the Spider-Man movies.
