was found online. As noted by Twitter user Wario64, the ad appeared briefly on Amazon UK before being taken off immediately. You can still follow the link to the listing, which now leads to a dead page, though you can see the “Legend-Zelda-Skyward-Sword-Switch” tags in the URL.
Although this leak formally does not confirm anything, it suggests that we may see a Nintendo Switch port of Skyward Sword in the future. It would not be beyond the realm of possibility, considering that HD remakes of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker were brought to the Wii U.However, a port for Skyward Sword would potentially require a lot more work than those previous games, given the game’s reliance on motion controls – that would require either a complete overhaul, or a stipulation that Joy-Cons should be used to play ( meaning many Switch Lite owners would not be able to play).
Back in 2016, The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma claimed that a remake of Skyward Sword HD was “certainly possible”, noting that Breath of the Wild was an “evolved or expanded version” of the 2011 Wii game. Later in 2018, Aonuma visited the port at a Zelda concert in Osaka, but Nintendo later clarified its position on the port, telling Eurogamer “at this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch . “
We watched The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword back when it launched in November of 2011, scoring it a 10/10 and calling the game a “masterpiece.” You can also check out some other Wii / Wii U ports that we think should make the leap to the Nintendo Switch.
