Zeiss’s full-frame Android Pre pre is available for a pre-order of ,000 6,000.

The Zeiss ZXX1, a unique feature that Mero announced more than two years ago before the company essentially stopped talking about it, could be in the hands of customers at some point in the near future. Noted by D.P.R.V., B&H Photo has sent emails saying it is coming soon and is now available for preorder in 6,000 downloads. It was originally slated to be released in early 2019.

Why would anyone pay $ 6,000 for a ZX1? Well, it is not wise to order a finished product without waiting for the imprint on the hand, but it is fair to say that it is a kind of camera. It has a 37-megapixel full-frame sensor, a fixed 35mm f / 2 lens, an electronic viewfinder and three dials to control the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. More unusually, it has a 3.3-inch touchscreen and runs a type of Android, including the built-in version of Adobe Literoom, so you can edit on the same device. There’s also 512GB of Wi-Fi, USB-C and 12board storage.

A clear comparison would be with Sony’s RX1 compact camera, which also features a full-frame sensor and Zeiss-branded 35mm f / 2 lens; The last one in 2015 cost 3 3,300. They don’t run a lightroom of course, but they are much smaller. Another comparison in the premium full-frame compact space will be the Laika Q2, which sells for 4,995. Zeiss has no confidence in the optics and performance of the ZXX1, but you know it’s expensive when you find a cheap camera.

After that, the price of ZX1 will come on all its UX and how efficiently its software works. And, well, we have no idea about that yet. Photo B and H aren’t listing the actual release date, either, which means there’s still some way to go before it goes on sale – if it does. We’ll update you if we hear anything more special.
