Zack Snyder shares a first look at Snyder Cut’s Steppenwolf and he’s really scary

There were many problems with the theatrical cut of Justice League, but chief among them was Steppenwolf. As villains of comic book movies go, he was pretty underwelling, a surprise considering the fact that Joss Whedon provided effective antagonists in Loki and Ultron with his Avengers films.

It did not help that Steppenwolf looks pretty lame, with his string of characters a real place for a lot of fans. He certainly did not look as formidable as the baddie Zack Snyder placed in a remote scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it’s likely he was simplified to save money on visual effects while Whedon re-watched most of the film.

Now Snyder gets to share his vision Justice League courtesy of HBO Max, and although a trailer for the “Snyder Cut” is set to be unveiled at DC FanDome, the filmmaker has shared an enormous tease on Vero today. As you can see below, this original version of Steppenwolf is quite formidable.

In fact, he looks downright awful, and although this is a low-resolution shot, it’s clear that the Steppenwolf in Justice League by Zack Snyder will see much more in line with what we have seen in concept art.

What do you think about this take on the first enemy of the League?
