The news broke Tuesday morning that Trae Waynes would be sidelined for about two months due to a pectoral injury. However, head coach Zac Taylor is not ready to say how long Waynes will be sidelined.
During a meeting with the media, Taylor said it was too early to say how important Waynes’ injury is. Taylor also said the injury happened this week.

Waynes was a rare big free agent who signed for the Bengals this offseason, as they got him on a three-year deal worth $ 42 million. He’s expected to be one of Cincinnati’s starting linebackers when he’s healthy.
However, if Waynes is two months out, that means he will likely miss games against the Chargers, Browns, Eagles and Jaguars. Two months from now, a week would come back as the Bengals faced the Ravens in Baltimore.
Hopefully the injury does not turn out to be as serious as originally reported and Waynes is able to return earlier than two months. But if not, the Bengals will rely on Darius Phillips, Mackensie Alexander and LeShaun Sims to pick up the snail. Reserve safety Brandon Wilson was also able to play some snaps at cornerback.
