Yukon Physician President Trump’s Covid-19 Diagnosis – NBC Reacts to Connecticut

Early Friday morning, President Donald Trump announced in a tweet that he and First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes hours after Hope Hicks, the president’s top aide, announced a positive test for COVID-19.

Dr. David, an infectious disease physician at Yukon Health. David Banach is talking about the care and examination that will probably be provided to the President in the coming days.

“Medical experts will look for signs of fever, any signs of respiratory tract, cough, shortness of breath, signs of that respiratory system, because we know they may be a sign of progression to a more serious illness or more illness,” Banache said.

When it comes to contacting someone like the president, the physician says it will require team effort and a lot of resources.

It is not clear from whom the president caught the virus, Banache said, adding that finding so-called “super spreaders” could help reduce the chances of people getting sick.

“The things we think about are individuals who are sick, how many viruses they actually have, what their immune system is like as some factors play into the potential hood of COVID-19 spread,” Banache said. “In terms of timelines and windows, we don’t usually look for people who actually have symptoms 48 hours before the onset of symptoms or before that test result as a window period.”

With President 74, his risk is higher.

“Usually when we look at anything from the age of 0 and beyond, the risk of serious disease increases significantly,” Banache said.
