Yukon Hucks Star Page Bookers Top 15 List for Latest Women’s Women’s College Basketball for L only at Wooden Awards

Yukon’s Pige Bookers is the only new player among the 15 women’s college basketball players on the Wooden Awards national ballot released on Saturday.

The list included South Carolina forward Aliah Boston and Stanford guard Haley Jones. Stanford was the only school with multiple delegates, as senior defender Kiana Williams was also included in the top 15.

Pack-12 made its way to the national ballot with four players on the national ballot, including Arizona’s conference conference player Ari MacDonald and fellow UCLA senior Michelle Onyanwer.

The SEC and the Big 12 had three players on each ballot. Dana Evans of Louisville, who was named ACC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season earlier this week, is one of seven seniors in the top 15. Ryan Howard of Kentucky, SEC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, is one of five juniors.

The bookers led the Yukon to a 21-1 record and the No. 1 ranking in the AP Top 25. Earlier this week, the bookers joined Maya Moore as the only woman to receive a Big East player and a New Year’s Award the same season. Bookers are ahead of Yukon in scoring (19.8 ppg), assists (6.2 apg), stealing (2.4 spg) and 3-point shooting (47.6%).

Charlie Collier of Texas, a draft-worthy junior and potential No. 1 picker, was also included in the 2021 WNBA draft.

The Wooden Award was established in 2004 to honor the top women’s college basketball player. Ionscu of Sabari, Oregon, won the award in 2018-19 and 2019-20. The Wooden Awards All-America team will be announced in late March after the 2021 winners are announced after the NCAA tournament in April.
