You can now sign up to test Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR

New Micro .ft Flight Simulator The PC game is an immersive animal, and we can only imagine how much immersion it will get in VR – but you don’t have to imagine much time, as Microsoft has just opened up signups (via Eurogamer) For a closed beta of virtual reality experience.

If you want to consider, there are a few requirements. Not only do you own the game, you must have a Windows mixed reality headset, be a registered Microsoft flight simulator “Insider” and sign the NDA, you will need a little bit of a Firefighter PC than the base game with Nvidia GeFros GTX 1080. Or good sports 8GB of VRAM, as well as 16GB of system memory.

And, you need to qualify your PC by submitting your DXDIAG (press your Windows start button, type “DXDIAG”, press Enter) so that MicroSDF can confirm those specs and your system is not at risk for BSODS or any other large system. Mistakes

(The DXDiag file is basically just an inventory of your system, but it doesn’t even have a list of recent application crashes.)

Interestingly, it doesn’t look like you’ll need the HP Reverb G2, the exclusive headset that Microsoft originally said would get the first dibs on the game. Any Windows Mixed Reality headset would obviously have to start, which should be neat for those who get deep discounts on things like Lenovo Explorer and Samsung Odyssey over the last few years.

The company doesn’t say when the closed beta will launch, but it did promise a free VR update earlier this fall, so it won’t be long. If you’ve got an Oculus, HTC or other VR headset, there will be another wave of closed beta for other devices as well.

It’s no surprise that Microsoft would like to be wary of a VR rollout, as the game eats a powerful gaming PC at lunchtime early on. Even our Nvidia RTX 3080 wasn’t enough to run it at full bore, partly because we didn’t pair it with a fast enough CPU. That said, we’ve seen some framerate improvements in recent updates, so maybe VR won’t be a big stretch this holiday. And maybe it will give you more time to find a flight stick.
