During a July 16 broadcast, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel reacted to Dr. Disrespect’s first interview since it was banned on Twitch in June. The former Overwatch pro explained why he thinks the transmitter is being so quiet about his removal from the platform.
On June 26, Twitch unexpectedly banned one of its biggest stars, Dr. Disrespect. Weeks later, fans are still no closer to discovering the reason, as the broadcast company has made no further statements to explain the shock’s decision.
However, Doc finally broke his silence on July 16 and opened up to various media outlets about the suspension. Reacting to his responses, the popular streamer xQc explained to viewers why he thinks the Twice-Champion doesn’t say much.
xQc explains why you think Dr. Disrespect is quiet
While reading the interview with PC Gamer, xQc gave his opinion on the subject that he is currently not interested in becoming exclusive to another platform. “I’m going to make a polite assumption, and I hope it isn’t taken the wrong way. But it’s the other way around,” he said. “I think depending on what happened, I don’t think streaming platforms are interested in going into an exclusive if Twitch doesn’t want to anymore.”
On the subject of why Dr. Disrespect did not turn to social media to challenge his ban, the Canadian explained: “Even if it is not a legal problem, if you make a statement or anything else, even as a greeting on social media. Social, it’s a show of character. It’s a show of status. It’s like “Oh man, you looked happy there.” I feel like it’s a risk some people don’t want to run.
The 24-year-old later stated that he did not believe he was lying about not being told the reason for his ban, but he is skeptical that he has no idea what it could be. “You are not lying saying you don’t know why, but I’m pretty sure you at least have a good idea of what it could be. Definitely, pal.”
Lastly, the transmitter also hit critics who questioned why Doc did not flatly deny any allegations in the interview. “They are saying” but he didn’t say no! “… Dude, this is just a safety net for the interview. Look, [the interviewer] I already asked him two possible things that could have been banned, now a third. I think he’s just saying, “Just for those screwed guesses. What is this, as trial and error?”

During his broadcast, the former Overwatch streamer told his audience that he would not “speculate” on why Dr. Disrespect was banned, and warned viewers to make assumptions. xQc also theorized that other companies may be interested in streaming with Doc, where he can launch on multiple platforms “simultaneously”.
While the Canadian is generally known for his variety of content and explosive personality, Lengyel often gives his in-depth opinion on the streaming industry. The veteran continues to be one of the most viewed personalities on Twitch with over 3.2 million followers on his channel at the time of writing.
