If you have a Pixel 3 or Pixel 4, then you will know about the Top Shot feature that selects the best image from a burst of photos, and now it seems like a similar feature will make its way to Xiaomi phones.
Some of the XDA developers in the latest beta versions of MIUI 12 (the skin Xiaomi puts on Android) have found references to a feature called AI Shutter, and it could very well mimic the functionality of Top Shot.
While Chinese translations are likely to be a bit misplaced, AI Shutter appears to be configured as a way to select the “best time” when the shutter button is pressed. At the moment, the function is not available in MIUI 12, which is being implemented now.
As experienced Top Shot users will know, it takes some of the pressure off you by trying to capture the perfect moment when you’re taking a photo – your phone can pick the image where everyone is smiling, and instead have their eyes open.
For you, for MIUI
MIUI 12 is a major new release for Xiaomi phone owners, bringing with it a variety of major improvements to the software. Those improvements include better battery management, a dark mode, better permission management, and the addition of a smart-looking Control Center.
Of course, many of these features can already be found on phones from other manufacturers, so once Xiaomi catches up, it will give you another reason to consider a phone from the Chinese manufacturer, in addition to competitive prices and high quality. of the components.
As for Google and its Pixel line, the quality of the camera and, in particular, the processing of the software, has always been a key selling point. We are still patiently waiting for the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 to appear sometime this year.
Since Huawei, Samsung, and Apple show no signs of slowing down in terms of improvements to their own camera hardware and software, no one can relax, and it looks like Xiaomi may be announcing another new feature soon.
