The Xiaomi Mi11 was the most anticipated phone of 2021 – we say ‘was’ because, as it turns out, it’s actually coming in 2020.
On the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi confirmed the line of its Mi 11 smartphone, the next generation of its next generation, on December 28 at 7:30 pm CST (1:30 pm GMT, 8:30 am ET, 5:30 am PT). Will launch on. . It was hinting at rumors a day earlier, and hinting at the early months of February.
The teaser of the event was light on the details of the phone except to confirm the name Xiaomi Mi11, so we’ll have to wait and see what the handset looks like, and how many siblings it will come with. However, if you are a big tech fan and you like tuning in to phone launching events you can skip this.
Only for China
As most, but not all, Xiaomi launches phones, the unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi11 is the only Chinese event. Text and spoken language will be in Mandarin, and information such as availability and procurement will be provided for China only. If you speak the language, the event will be meaningful to you but it can be a confusing experience if you don’t want to tune in.
That doesn’t mean the phone will only come to China – Xiaomi often hosts subsequent global launches where it unveils prices in many other currencies. We can find out which handsets come in which countries – Xiaomi tends to start random selection of phones in markets like UK.
So, when could this second event happen? The Xiaomi Mi10 global launch took place six weeks after its Chinese one, so maybe we’ll see the Xiaomi Mi 11 in late January or early February. Only time will tell.
If you want to know what Xiaomi Mi 11 will be like, Tekradar will tune in to the Chinese event and bring you all the relevant information, so stay tuned for it on December 29th.
