WARSAW – Three new cases of COVID-19 have raised the overall total for Wyoming County to over 100.
The county now has 102 confirmed cases since the pandemic began, according to the Wyoming County Department of Health.
Although Wyoming County has had relatively few cases of coronavirus compared to most other neighboring counties, however, it has reported five in the past two days.
The three most recent cases were reported in the southeast quadrant of the county, which includes Castilla, Gainesville, Genesee Falls and Pike. They include two people aged 60 and one person aged 70.
The total number of recoveries has increased from one to 90.
Five people are in mandatory isolation, 23 in mandatory quarantine and 52 in preventive quarantine after traveling out of state. A total of five people have died.
Current Wyoming County statistics include:
north A total of 33 cases have been confirmed in the northwest quadrant including Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, and Sheldon. Two have been attributed to the Attica Correctional Facility and 31 have been recovered.
north 32 cases have been confirmed in the northeast quadrant including Warsaw, Perry, Middlebury and Covington. Twenty-six of them have recovered and five have died.
north Nineteen cases have been confirmed in the southeast quadrant. Fifteen have recovered.
north Eighteen cases have been confirmed in the southwest quadrant including Arcade, Eagle, Java, and Wethersfield. All 18 have recovered.
The age breakdown of positive COVID-19 cases included 20 people in their 20s; 19 people in their 40s; 18 people in their 60s; 16 people in their 50s; 11 people in their 30s; 10 people of 70 years; three people each in their 80s and 90s; and two people under the age of 20.
The county has conducted 7,978 total tests. The results include 7,990 negative tests for an infection rate among those evaluated of 1.26%.
Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday in Genesee and Orleans counties, according to the Genesee and Orleans County Health Department.
A new case was reported in Genesee County totaling 244. The person is a 70-year-old Batavia resident who was not in mandatory quarantine before testing positive. There are no active cases currently hospitalized, and 15 new people are in precautionary quarantine due to travel from restricted states.
To date, Genesee has had 13,213 negative tests. There are seven community cases under mandatory isolation, with 48 community cases under mandatory quarantine; 91 community cases under precautionary quarantine; five total deaths; and 178 community recoveries.
The infection rate among those examined is 1.8%.
Orleans County had a new positive case for a total of 272. The new positive is an 80-year-old Clarendon resident who was not under mandatory quarantine before testing positive.
Two of the active cases are hospitalized, and 45 new people are in preventive quarantine due to travel from restricted states.
Orleans has had 6,818 negative tests. As of Tuesday, there were two community cases under mandatory isolation; 21 community cases under compulsory quarantine; 78 community cases under precautionary quarantine; 55 total deaths; and 117 community recoveries.
The infection rate among those examined is 3.8 percent.
The list of restricted travel states on Tuesday included Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico , North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
LIVINGSTON COUNTY
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Livingston County continued to decline for five days. There were nine active cases Tuesday after the county Health Department reported a new laboratory-confirmed case and two recoveries.
The new case is on Avon. The recovered cases were in Caledonia and Dansville.
The county’s active cases also include two in Livonia and Mount Morris; and individual cases in Caledonia, Conesus, Dansville, and Lakeville.
There have been 157 total cases in Livingston County, with 140 recoveries and eight deaths.
More than 12,000 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted among Livingston County residents. The results of the 12,058 tests include 11,901 negative tests, representing an infection rate between tests of 1.3%.
Livingston County is also tracking antibodies. Of the total 1,046 antibody tests, there have been 45 positive tests, a rate of 4.3%.
The antibody test is a blood test that looks for antibodies that are created in your body after you have received COVID-19.
Positive antibodies represent those individuals who underwent an antibody test and showed exposure to the virus, but did not end up having virus symptoms. A positive antibody test is not considered a positive COVID-19 test and may instead be indicative of immunity to the new coronavirus causing COVID-19.
