The Eye for an Eye match between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio in the WWE Extreme Rules tonight was almost as crazy as everyone expected, and Mysterio unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of the Steel and Rollins steps. WWE released an update on Mysterio’s condition, and they took him to a nearby hospital for doctors to look him in the eye. According to the report, his optic nerve turned out not to be reversed, making his eyesight much more likely to be restored as a result, which is great news.
They also went into detail about the state of his eye, but I’ll spare you the details. The main point is that you can get your sight back despite the horrible injury you sustained during the match, and we wish you a speedy recovery.
Mysterio suffered the injury after a tough fight with Rollins, and while Mysterio did his fair share of damage in Rollins’ eyes, it wasn’t what Rollins ended up doing in Mysterio’s eyes.
Rollins managed to get his eye closer to the edge of the steel steps, and while Mysterio did his best to push the steps away, he wasn’t strong enough and his eye hit the edge.
Quick close-ups showed Mysterio’s eye on his hands, causing Rollins to walk away from the scene and start vomiting.
