A week away from a harrowing personal experience, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose stepped into WWE ThunderDome for an enormous moment in each of their careers.
Harren SummerSlam match was the reward for a long, well-told personal problem between the former tag partners. They were scheduled to blow off their feud with a hair-to-hair match, but perhaps because of an attempted abduction at Deville’s home last Sunday, their meeting on August 23 was turned into a No Disqualification Loser Leaves WWE affair.
Rose, who tried to talk her friend out of the game on Friday’s SmackDown, actually took the most advantage of the lack of rules.
It was Sonya who kept things in the ring, and her Fire & Desire partner mocked amidst inputs and striking MMA style.
A table and chair came into action, but Deville escaped before being placed by the former or hit by the latter.
Kicks were the most prominent move in the closing sequence, with sitout facebuster thrown in. A knuckle to the face sent Sonya out of the ring, and out of the company (at least for a little while).
Otis ran in to cheer up his peach, and that was it.
