With Extreme Rules in the books, it’s time to start building SummerSlam. When we begin our journey down that road to SummerSlam, WWE Raw has a big unauthorized game scheduled for Monday night between two legends.
After Randy Orton sidelined Edge in his “Best Wrestling Match Ever” in Backlash’s pay-per-view, he hit Christian the next night in an unauthorized match. Orton’s return to the “Legend Killer” character sparked the wrath of The Big Show. After weeks of sparking a potential confrontation, Orton used the threat of hitting R-Truth to finally lure Big Show into the ring. Then Orton unveiled the next part of his master plan: an unauthorized bout with Big Show on Raw this week.
Will Big Show be able to stop Orton’s role in possibly the best stretch of his WWE career? What role will Ric Flair play? It’s a great match for WWE’s flagship television show, and will serve to position itself exactly where Orton sits as SummerSlam approaches.
