NXT returns on Sunday night with another huge edition of its special event series while NXT Takeover: The1 takes place inside the WWE Performance Center, now known as the Capitol Wrestling Center. The five-match card features four title bouts, with Kyle O’Reilly challenging Finn Balor for the NXT Championship and Condis Lare for the NXT Women’s title as she steps up for the Battle IO title.

Borre won the title back on September 8 at the time, forcing the injured Carian Cross to leave the championship after a shoulder injury after beating Adam Cole. O’Reilly got his title shot in the Gantlet Eliminator match on September 23rd. On the same show, Lera won the battle royal to become the number one contender for the women’s championship and will now face Shirai at Tick Over 31 for the title.
