WWE Extreme Rules Results: The Devil emerges to end the Swamp Fight

After being touted throughout the night, even with a black and white trip to the Firelfy Fun House that looked like it was three months earlier, Bray Wyatt and Swaun Fowman, the untitled title for Braun Strowman, was the main event on 19 July. Extreme Rules PPV.

Braun rolled into his truck, where Bray was waiting for him in his rocking chair.

After the Universal champion declared that he was “home,” the lights went out and the cult leader disappeared. Strowman hit the rocker but was distracted by things like a wild boar and his opponent repeatedly attacked him out of nowhere. Even a cheer from Fun House Bray couldn’t help him … especially when his masked black sheep traveled back in time to attack him with a shovel and chain him to a rocking chair in Wyatt’s cabin.

There, the cult leader delivered a sermon to his former follower. For Braun to become the monster he should be, he needed to destroy the monster he had become.

Sister Abigail (I think) appeared with a snake, then Strowman was released.

He was attacked by men in black (but not Akira Tozawa’s men in black). He fought them, and one of them fell into the fire, then ran away in flames. The next distraction was Alexa Bliss, summoning a small kayfabe from Mixed Match Challenge. A ghostly version of Lil Miss Bliss promised Braun that they could be together, slowing the champion down enough to be attacked by the Eater of Worlds again.

Bray hit Strowman senselessly with what looked like an ax handle, then wailed “look what you made me do.” Braun stood up, they both laughed, and the champion threw his former mentor into the swamp. We got a fake slasher movie where the ending credits logo appeared on the screen, but after a couple of blackouts, Bray’s hand reached up and grabbed Braun in the Jaw Claw. Both men entered the water, which then swirled red.

The Demon got up, implored us to “let him in,” and the show ended forever.

I’m not sure what to do with everything, honestly. For the most part, it seems to confirm what we all thought he was wearing anyway: The Fiend vs. Strowman for the Universal title in Summer festival.
