Chinese game developer Game Science Studio has released gameplay footage for their newly announced game, Black myth: Wukong.
The pre-alpha footage was uploaded to YouTube and shows the game’s games Souls-like combat as the protagonist wins through a lush forest. The style is inspired by the Chinese story, Journey To The West, and includes the legendary figure The Monkey King, often known as Sun Wukong.
One of the unique show elements is the ability of the Monkey King to transform into various other creatures. The trailer shows various instances, such as turning into a flying insect to shake the environment or becoming a fierce monster to fight an attack of enemies.
The gameplay concludes with a brief montage of the game with the Monkey King tackling an assortment of beasts, and demonstrating some stunning imagery the game uses with Unreal Engine 4.

An official site for Black myth: Wukong has also been updated with additional details. A Google translation of the Chinese website reveals that it is expected that the game will be released on PC and all “major host platforms”, including cloud gaming platforms that run smoothly.
Black myth: Wukong will come with 72 special abilities to use and will be used to fight the many enemies of the game, several of which will be shown during the gameplay demo.
While the game is hot Black myth: Wukong, the developer has said “it’s not just about monkeys” because there are “far too many intriguing characters that are worthwhile”. The developer also stated that it will release the game “if we (Game Science Studio) are happy as players.”
