Like most film and TV projects, The Batman was forced to close production due to COVID-19 safety measures. But now, as studios begin to open, the crew of the film brings production indoors. When asked about moving his former outdoor locations to the indoor studio, co-author Mattson Tomlin told Comic Book that the change would not affect the aesthetics or tone of the film.

“I mean, the movie is the movie, and I think the plan right now is to execute that vision,” Tomlin explained. ‘They were pretty much ways to shoot like it was, so it’s just how you end up safe? How do you make sure everyone can get up for work and then go home and that everything is in order? ”

Screenwriter Mattson Tomlin promises to deliver Matt Reeves’ vision

There rides a lot on it The Batman. To the Justice League debacle and Ben Affleck stepping out of the role early, fans are counting on this film to rekindle their passion for the beloved superhero.

Tomlin – who’s fresh from the success of his Netflix movie, Project power – co-wrote the film with Reeves. And when he spoke to Forbes, he promised that this new vision will keep fans away.

“I feel like I owe so much to Matt Reeves, I think of him as my filmmaker at this point,” Tomlin said. ‘He’s such a talented director and writer and for me to be a part of that process the little way I was, it’s still a complete dream. Pound for pound, he continues to make me a better writer day in and day out. I’m so excited about what he’s doing with that movie. I think people will lose their minds. ”

Reeves is also working on a Gotham-based police drama for HBO Max. The untitled series will be set in the same universe as the movie. Hopefully the writer / director’s vision will bring some life back to Gotham and the DCEU.
