Armageddon worms It was released over 20 years ago and has since remained a fan favorite. And to celebrate the 25th anniversary of everything Worms series, developer Team17 has released a gift for lifelong fans: a new update for Armageddon on the PC, with seven years of corrections, changes and improvements.

Team17 announced this morning on Twitter and Steam the new update 3.8 for Armageddon, the third entry in the franchise. Originally released in 1999, Armageddon is a turn-based strategy game starring little worms and destructive environments. It has been one of the most popular and beloved games in the franchise, receiving mods from fans and support for the past two decades. It was last updated in 2013.. Team17 has taken some of these fan enhancements, fixes, and modulation features and integrated them into the full official game with this update.

For example, “Rubber Worm“It was a popular Armageddon Mod that allows people to manipulate physics and fire multiple weapons in a single turn, to name just a few of the 70 features it added. All that is now part of the official game, although you will have to beat single player to access new features.

This new update also adds interpolation between frames, making the action smoother. Slow motion replays should now be less choppy. Another good feature is the ability to play. Armageddon in windowed mode without problems, something that was not really possible before this update.

Other features added in update 3.8 include an OpenGL rendering option, new features for streamers, the ability to save maps in the middle of the game, then use them later, and translations of game fans in seven new languages.

Team17 shared these statistics from the full update:

  • 370 arrangements
  • 45 changes
  • 61 new features

Any game that gets such a big and expansive update for free would be awesome, but a game that’s over 20 years old and receiving this amount of love and attention is insane. 2020 is a year full of surprises. Many of them have been bad, but this one is good.
