LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County on Friday announced a new stay-home order as coronavirus cases spiral out of control in the country’s most populous country.

The three-week order is effective Monday. The county came after confirming 24 new deaths and 4,544 new confirmed cases of Covid-19.

The county began issuing stay-home orders: an average of 4,500,000 cases a day occur over a five-day period, but it was not expected to reach that level until next month.

However, the five-day average of new cases reported on Friday was 7,511.

“We know we demand a lot from a lot of people who have been sacrificing for months,” said Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer. “We must act with collective urgency now if we are to stop this surge.”

The order advises residents to stay home “as much as possible” and to wear face wear when they go out. It prohibits people from associating with others who are not in their home, publicly or privately.

However, exceptions are made for church services and protests, which are “constitutionally protected rights,” the county said in a statement to Public Health.

Most for-profit retailers, including nail salons and other personal care services, are allowed to remain open during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons, but with limited capacity.

Restaurants in the county were already banned from eating in private. They can still offer pickup, delivery and takeout services.

Beaches, roads and parks will remain open with safety requirements.

The order, which runs until December 20, is more modest than the statewide closure order issued by government Gavin News in mid-March. The order closed schools and most businesses and made the movement very restrictive except for the necessary workers or for doing necessary work such as buying groceries or choosing medicines.

The sanctions are said to have slowed the spread of COVID-9 and eased some of the restrictions but have reached record levels in the summer and in recent weeks in most parts of the state as well as in most states of the country. .

The number of daily cases in California has set a record in recent days. The statewide hospital admissions have increased by more than 80% in the last two weeks. About 2,000 people in the county are now hospitalized and the new order is part of an effort to prevent the county’s health system from overflowing.

Meanwhile, public health officials are cracking down on a wave of cases that could lead to rallies at Thanksgiving. Officials say it usually takes two to three weeks for such serious cases to be reported but 12% of infected people can be hospitalized.

Despite its widespread reputation, the Los Angeles U.S. Has several neighborhoods in, many of which have multi-generation homes, where workers who do not have the luxury of telecommuting are exposed to the virus at work or on public transport and spread. For those family members.

The number of cases in those communities has been high and the virus has greatly affected Latino and Black people.
