VJ, a smart home company, known for its budget range of Internet-connected security cameras, has announced its debut smartwatch. The Wise Watch will be available in two sizes – 44mm and 47mm – when it arrives in the US in February 2021, and like the rest of the company’s lineup, it costs 20. Wise’s announcement follows the release of the company’s first fitness tracker, the $ 25 Wise band earlier this year.
The watch will carry a fairly standard selection of smartwatch features including blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate tracking, IP68 water and dust resistance rating, nine days of battery life, activity and sleep tracking, and integration with Google Fit and Apple Pul Health. However, the Clock Wise will also integrate with other devices; The company promises that it will support shortcuts to let you control products like its smart bulbs. It can also display your notifications, allowing you to read email previews and texts, although Wise’s press release does not explicitly state which mobile operating system the watch works with.
Speaking of specs, the 44mm Wise Watch has a 1.4-inch LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 320 and a 260 mAh battery. The 47mm version has a 1.75-inch LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 385 and a 300 mAh battery. Both have 16MB of storage. Neither GPS-enabled GPS tracking, nor voice support for these assistants.
It’s hard to see Wise beat the competition with a choice of YPL or Samsung when it makes its starter smartwatch priced at just at 20. But if it can deliver on its modest promise of providing a simple, functional experience, then the Wise Watch can be a sleek first smartwatch.
Wise Watch is available for pre-order starting today.
