The business of a white pickup truck wanting to speed up in Riverside County before reaching a conclusion in East Los Angeles on Monday.
Inland California Highway Patrol said business began near 91 Freeway and Free1 Freeway, with a white pickup truck speeding.
The driver was in the Anaheim area and was chasing 4 on the Newsch op at 8:40 p.m.
The driver had a “blackout” on the freeway, meaning his headlights were off. With the driver on the wrong side of the street at the point and driving dangerously, officers were seen pulling back and going into tracking mode with an archship following a vehicle chasing without a ground unit.
At one point, the driver took advantage of the tracking mode and pulled towards the gas station, presumably the time to pump the gas and continue the high-speed chase. A few moments later the driver jumped into the pickup and sped off, cutting off the lights of the white vehicles.
Pulak was heading towards Fullerton, the driver was hitting 95 miles on surface streets, still darkened and moving around the vehicles. The driver continued to speed on surface streets and drove erratically.
Continuing the chase, the driver headed north on 5 Freeway and headed for Los Angeles County, continued driving without headlights and accelerated to 100 miles per hour on the freeway.
After continuing to drive dangerously, the driver pulled into the neighborhood near the intersection of Floral Drive and North East Avenue. The driver took off and ran to what appeared to be a residence in the East Los Angeles neighborhood.
Immediately, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home and began searching for the driver with CHP officers.
Officers appeared looking for a backpack at the residence, and began a lengthy search.
At about 10:30 a.m., a man was reportedly detained at the address, but it was not immediately clear whether the businessman was a suspect.
