Why some ‘Bachelor’ fans feel that Colton Underwood is being hypocritical in his breakup with Cassie Randolph


Former bachelor Colton Underwood and season winner Cassie Randolph announced on May 29 that they were done. When Single couples break up, often releasing a unified statement. Randolph and Underwood released two separate subtitles to announce their breakup. But in both subtitles, reality TV stars wrote about wanting to stay close.

Cassie Randolph’s ‘The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!’ interview

Then on July 6, Randolph did an interview with Chris Harrison in The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever! She was asked about her separation from Underwood, but remained very quiet about the details.

“It’s kind of a touchy subject because I feel like we’re still going through that and it’s still quite emotional for both of us.” And we haven’t talked about that publicly yet and I don’t know if any of us are ready, “Randolph told Harrison.

“But I will say that it has been very difficult. I think going through a breakup is difficult, but going through one in public comes with a whole new set of challenges that, like, I’ve never been through any of this before. We are both learning to navigate it. But we are on good terms and holding it there, ”he continued.

After the interview, Randolph turned to her Instagram stories to express that she was frustrated with the edit. She said that she and Harrison had discussed many other topics besides their breakup with Underwood, but neither of them appeared.

“There is much more to me than just my past relationship,” he said.

Colton’s reaction to Cassie’s interview

Shortly after the interview aired, Underwood logged onto Instagram to post a caption on getting “so clear.”

“When our relationship ended, we agreed to handle things as privately as possible while trying to navigate our new relationship as friends. I chose to do it because we lived in this interim period, but obviously a lot of things changed this week, ”he wrote.

The former soccer player also wrote that he is “very excited for the next chapter in my life with new stories and new people.”

Some Single Fans took the cation to be an opportunity for Randolph. And Randolph did, too, according to his Instagram story, asking Underwood to “refrain from prolonging our breakup, or dragging me along, when we both know it’s unwarranted.”

‘Bachelor’ fans who think Colton Underwood is being hypocritical

Of course, ever since Underwood and Randolph’s breakup became dramatic, Bachelor Nation has been influencing his thoughts. Some fans feel that the former football player “is a great hypocrite” for his behavior after the Randolph interview.

“Personally, I feel that once you break up, neither person has the right to tell the other what to discuss. It is very controlling, ”wrote a Reddit user.

“But don’t you think it’s a little different if both people are in the public eye and both agree not to push? It’s not the same as discussing it with people you really know, ”argued another Reddit user.

But other fans of the show feel that if Underwood can reveal the complexities of her relationship with Randolph in her book, then Randolph can give interviews (especially when she doesn’t elaborate on the breakup).

“If Colton is allowed to write a complete book of a * s and reveal private information about their relationship, then Cassie is allowed to give interviews where she doesn’t actually give out any private information,” wrote one fan.

“Yes! I feel bad for Cassie. Good for her for leaving!” Intervened another.

Underwood also has plenty of fans who support him (as he noted in his Instagram caption). Sometimes breakups get messy and people often can’t help but take sides. The split between Randolph and Underwood got messy on Instagram, where they have millions of followers. That’s a lot of people taking sides.
