Why Regina King Says It Might Not Happen – Variety

Despite rave reviews and the best role of her career, Regina King is unsure whether she will reprise the role of masked police detective Sister Night in HBO’s “Watchmen”.

In an interview for VarietyActors in a matter of actors, King explained to Reese Witherspoon why there might not be a second season of the superhero series.

“I don’t know,” King told Witherspoon when asked about more episodes. “Honestly, I feel like I think HBO would want him back in an instant, but yeah [showrunner] Damon Lindelof doesn’t see an entry point for season 2, I think the possibilities are endless. But I feel like if Damon doesn’t see it, then it will be a no for me. “

Witherspoon then spoke about whether he would consider a third season of “Big Little Lies,” one of three television shows, along with “Little Fires Everywhere” and “The Morning Show,” which he starred in and produced this year.

“I never say never, because we thought ‘Big Little Lies’ was going to be a season, and we had no idea we were going to come back,” said Witherspoon. “But I’ll say ‘Big Little Lies’ is one of the most rewarding creative experiences for me. Just working with those women, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz and Shailene Woodley, and now Meryl Streep, was just a dream. Every day I was excited to go to work. I couldn’t wait to improvise with Laura Dern or Meryl Streep. Nicole is just a classmate and that started my career as a TV broadcast producer. “
