Millions of Texans remained without electricity Wednesday morning, although temperatures in most parts of the state rose above freezing, potentially signaling the state’s power grid service could make significant progress to the restored service. Texas’ pockets plunged into widespread power outage on their third day amid extended winter storms, as electric utilities and power grid service are designed to restore order.
They urged patience as grid operators and power companies tried to restore normal service. “We know this is difficult. As Texas grid operator Paret tweeted Wednesday morning, we continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power. “We hope to reduce the outage during the day.”
The state of emergency began early Monday morning when several power plants crashed offline flights in quick succession. The cold snap continued till Wednesday in the northern part of the state, making it difficult for officials to restore power across the state.

An unusual Arctic blast Monday and Tuesday spread all the way from the top of the Panhandle in Texas to the Rio Grande Valley. Most residents of the state experienced single-digit temperatures for two to three days.
There was a record break in the demand for electricity due to the widespread cold weather. By Monday night, Monday morning, cold conditions had disrupted dozens of power plants. Following this, the state’s grid operator will announce its most critical state of emergency at 1:30 a.m. Monday.
