For dancers Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Baas, timing is everything. When the couple began dating in 2010, they managed to take things slowly so they did not overwhelm Holker’s daughter, Weslie.
‘I did not immediately start hanging out with Weslie. We waited about six months, ”said Boss TODAY Parents. “Allison treated it brilliantly. She wanted to make sure she knew exactly who I was and that it would be in the long run. ‘
Holker, 32, notes that she did not want to force the relationship between Weslie, now 12, and the DJ “Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
‘I wanted to let the growth go with the times. I knew I had to be patient, ”Holker explained. “And today, Weslie and Stephen have this wonderful, special connection.”
Baas said he had bonded with Weslie by taking her on special dates just the two of them.
“That’s how we invented each other and got to know each other,” he revealed. “We started making our own memories.”
Holker and Boss, who have been married since 2013, are now also parents to 4-year-old Maddox and 9-month-old Zaia. Although difficult with three children, the albums “So You Think You Can Dance” regularly give each child one-on-one time.
‘Weslie and I will do our nails together. “Stephen and Weslie go to Starbucks together every morning,” said Holker. “We make sure we find what we have in common with each person and then we do that with them.”
Holker and Boss opened for TODAY Parents as they promoted their partnership with Pampers and their # 360StretchChallenge. The campaign includes testing the brand’s 360 FIT diapers, including dance, fitness and yoga.
“With every move we make a family, it was a non-brainer who worked with them,” Holker said. “We are constantly teaching our children how important it is to stay active.”
