Who is picking up Machida over Davis in the rematch?


Baleter is back in Connecticut this week with back-to-back events, the first of which features a light heavyweight rematch.

The Baletor 245 takes place on Friday at the Mohagen Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., The main card on Paramount is aired and streamed on Diazen after a prelim on MMA Junky.

In the main event, former Baleter Light heavyweight champion Phil Davis (21-5 MMA, 8-2 BMA) reunites former UFC champion Luto Machida (26-9 MMA, 2-1 BMA). The two first met at the UFC, and Davis made the controversial decision in Brazil. The Davis A-350 is a favorite, and our 14 editors, writers, videographers and radio hosts have a big lead of 12-2.

The UFC Women’s Bantamweight title challenger Kate Zingana (10-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) makes her promotional debut in the Featherweight against Gabriel Holloway (6-5 MMA, 1-2 BMA) in the co-main event. Shrimp is the most favorite on the card at 9-1, and has a 13-1 lead.

Also on the main card is Ed Ruth (8-2 MMA, 8-2 BMA) leading 3-1 in the middleweight against Taylor Johnson (5-1 MMA, 0-0 BMA), and Ruth has a 13-1 lead.

And kickback boxing standout Raymond Daniels (2-1 MMA, 2-0 BMA) is a -365 favorite against Peter Stanonic (5-4 MMA, 0-0 BMA), and only one picker is taking Stanonic uneasily.

The consensus choices in the MMA Junky Reader are Davis (56 percent), Zingano (88 percent), Ruth (86 percent) and Daniels (N / A).
