Vile videos show a white woman in Los Angeles blocking a black man from delivering food to a resident in his apartment building, and asks the mask-clad worker, “Is this a robbery or something?”
The video, posted Wednesday on Instagram by Jordan Mykel Gipson, shows a confrontation he had with an unidentified white woman in an apartment building in the Westwood section of Los Angeles.
“So a Karen stopped me from doing my job,” Gipson wrote in a 4-minute clip showing him holding multiple food containers outside the building.
“I don’t want you here,” says the woman. “I don’t want you here at all.”
Gipson, a Postmates delivery man, asks the woman to let him do his job while talking to the customer through the building’s callbox system. The woman who confronted Gipson also referred to him as a “delivery man,” the video shows.
“Can’t you film me?” the woman once says she realizes that Gipson is taping her by blocking him from the building. “Don’t point me at that damn thing.”
“This is really terrible,” says Gipson at one point, asking the woman to stay away from him. “This is horrible.”
Gipson then asks the customer if he could leave the food out, causing someone to say they were headed down, the video shows.
Gipson tells the woman he is “doing” one of his three jobs, but she is unfazed and apparently bothered by his green mask and black hat for the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to a second video posted by Gipson.
“Is this a heist or something like that?” the woman asks. “Just take it off.”
The woman had insisted that Gipson was trying to hide something.
“What are you wearing that green thing?” she says, referring to her mask. “And why is that Dodger hat black?”
Gipson’s girlfriend, meanwhile, has launched an online fundraiser after his encounter with “crazy madwoman Karen” who blocked him from the building.
“Jordan was very patient with this racist woman who did not deserve the calm reaction he gave her,” the website says.
