White House Is Not a Contact Contract Tracing ‘Super-Spreader’ Trump Rose Garden Event

“The list contains names and email addresses. You need city and state for strong contact tracing, ”said an official. “We’re basically saying a lot – we need and want more information.”

Officials said the state contacted the White House as early as Friday after receiving information about the president’s diagnosis and a “blanket statement” said “the White House medical unit is tracing all contacts.”

“It’s not satisfactory to us – especially with New Jerseys,” the official said.

White House spokesman Mr. Deere said: “The full contact tracing Bedminster, compliant with the CDC guidelines, was completed for the NJ trip. The president has not had any conversations with Bedminster staff or guests that would be considered ‘close’ based on CDC guidelines (over 15 minutes and within 6 feet). ”

He added, “All White House staffers who have been in close contact during this trip have been identified, contacted, and recommended to be kept separate.”

At the event for Judge Barrett, guests, some of whom wore masks, mingled both outside and inside the house, hugged and talked to the head together. Over the next few days, at least eight attendees, including two senators, tested positive. On Monday, the White House press secretary, Kelly McKinney, became the latest.

The timing of Mr. Trump’s diagnosis makes it possible that he and others became infected on Saturday, medical experts said. Symptoms usually appear five days after exposure to the virus; Mr. Trump began showing symptoms Thursday, expecting “the right smack dubbed that day,” Dr. Maldonado said.

The CDC, led by President Barack Obama, is headed by Dr. Thomas R. Frieden said an outbreak investigation would help identify the source of the infection.
