Where to find Balls of Yarn at Catty Corner in ‘Fortnite’.
Another week of Fortnite The challenges begin this morning. As the water levels continue to drop, the map looks more and more like in Chapter 2, Season 2.
That means fewer sharks, more named locations, and all the debris and debris left by the flood.
A location that was no Around last season it was Catty Corner, and it remains despite other changes to the map. It used to be the box factory, and it’s where Meowscles was exiled when Deadpool took over his yacht.
Now young Kit lives here, the kitten equipped with mecha, along with his henchman robot trash. And the kittens love their yarn balls. That’s where one of this week’s challenges comes into play.
In Season 3, Week 7 challenges players to find three Balls of Yarn in Catty Corner. Actually, there are four in the place, but you will only need to find three to complete this challenge and earn that sweet, sweet XP.
Here is each location on the map:
Balls of yarn at Catty Corner
These are:
- On top of a two-story metal platform west of the complex.
- Inside the lime green container above the vault, next to what was once the box factory.
- On the second floor of the service station on the south side of Catty Corner.
- Outside on the south side of the gas station against the wall near the stairs (at the top of this post).
These are large balls of yarn, so you should have no problem detecting them. Simply interact with three of the four and you will complete the challenge and earn 35,000 XP.
There are some obstacles to completing what would otherwise be quite a simple challenge.
For one, there is an AI minion and a very deadly Kit boss to contend with. You can kill them all, or if you’re smart use one of the two phone booths in Catty Corner to dress up as a minion before picking up your thread.

This only solves one problem. Next up is how hot is this area right now. Catty Corner is not the warmest or sleepiest location on the map. I have been in many shootings here. But right now it is full of other players, many of whom are trying to solve this same challenge.
In other words, be vigilant, young Padawans! Get a weapon before you venture, and best of luck chasing those balls of yarn.
PS: A second layer of “camouflage” would be equipping the Kit’s mask. It won’t protect you from AI, but it could discourage other players. Just a thought.
