What we learned on day 7 of the Seattle Seahawks training camp

The Seahawks returned to practice on Thursday, after a day off for the team on Wednesday. Before putting Seattle on the field to begin with, head coach Pete Carroll met with reporters about a Zoom call. Here’s what we learned from Carroll’s media session and practice on Thursday.

Carroll provided further clarity on first-round pickup Jordyn Brooks‘health, after the linebacker was sidelined with a reading injury earlier in the week. Carroll said it could be more of a cramp than a tension. They hope to join him in a mock game on Saturday.

Carroll praised Marquise Blair, who are trying to win the vacant job for nickelback.

No delay for Quinton Dunbar, who was expected to make his full rehearsal debut on Thursday after gradually working his way up.

Colby Parkinson, who broke his foot training in the offseasons, is ahead of schedule and will come off the NFI list before the regular season.

Freddie Swain, Poona Ford, en Demarcus Christmas stayed out on Thursday while Phil Haynes came back. Chris Carson got what was a planned day away while Danny Etling must still proceed via COVID-19 test protocol.

BJ Finney saw time on right waiting, allowed Ethan Pocic to continue his reps with the first team at center.

With Dunbar fully involved, Blair was able to slip back to safety and get some reps on his natural position.

It was a lighter session for the team as they rallied for the mock game this weekend.
