We would see the cast of our beloved What we do in the shadows I read the dictionary, but luckily the San Diego Comic-Con panel of the FX program was more lively than that, and fast, recording just over 30 minutes. A moment worth noting was when co-producers Stefani Robinson and Paul Simms discussed one of the highlights of the second season. guest stars: Mark Hamill.

Hamill appears in episode six, “On the Run,” as Jim, a west coast vampire who has been trying to collect a debt from Laszlo (Matt Berry) for a long time. Instead of shelling out the money, Laszlo flees Staten Island to Pennsylvania, where he masquerades as a cheery bar owner. Eventually, they found out, and the resulting fight heats up around the pool table. Although the role was written specifically for Hamill, incredibly, that hilarious “lightsaber” moment was not initially part of the script.

“That was one of those things that I think happened on set, if I’m not mistaken,” said Robinson. “It was the stunt coordinators who made it up while they were rehearsing, and I think maybe it was a little bit of director Yana [Gorskaya], who did an amazing job directing that episode. That was something designed for that specific space when they were blocking everything. “

Simms added: “I think when we originally blocked everything, we were just trying to think of all the ways they could fight. We thought, ‘Oh, so maybe they hit the pool courts on each other.’ And then when it was day, and we were filming it, and you saw Mark Hamill pick up the pool cue, everyone on set said ‘Oh my gosh!’ “

Check out the rest of the panel, which also features cast members Matt Berry (Laszlo), Natasia Demetriou (Nadja), Kayvan Novak (Nandor), Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson)and Harvey Guillén (Guillermo)and is moderated by another guest star of the second season, Haley Joel Osment-down.
