This award ceremony also brought together some prominent family members for their performances, with the sisters Chloe x Halle constantly showing everyone with their home productions, brothers D Smoke and SiR juxtaposing the black fight with black excellence during their moving, and the mother and daughter duo Kierra Sheard and Karen Clark-Sheard asking God for the Kierra Gospel number.
